There's always time for a few more gifts:)

Actually, I had told my friend's daughter that I would help her make some gifts for her friends at school and a few cousins and today was the first day I had a few hours to spare. They are all 11 year-olds...are these not the perfect gifts?

Take some $.19 washers from your local hardware store...in whatever size you desire.

(I think these are like 2 inches)

cut out circles from some scrap scrapbook paper (or new stuff if you want)

and glue them on to the washers...

use some of this stuff...

(follow the directions on the box)

(you are in luck...Lil D grabbed the camera and took some "action" shots...)

and pour on top...

I rigged up this contraption since we were making so many...

(I took the plastic that you make your own stencils with and made little cones that I hot glued to a shoe box lid...it worked like a charm..ignore the mesh plastic...did not work as well)

we added some cording, and a little crystal for some bling...

(you could also get a metal stamping set and stamp words or initials on the back before doing the resin front...)

edited to add: after posting this, I was referred to this tutorial on another way to make these washer necklaces using the diamond glaze (shown below). Since I had some on hand I tried that out too and it worked just as great. I still like the resin a bit better...but if you want it to dry a little quicker and be a little easier to use (resin is a pain if you haven't used it before) try the diamond glaze. PLUS...once one side dries you can do paper on the other side too! (because the diamond glaze doesn't run over like the resin does) just thought you might want to see another option!

of course...you can't have a necklace without a matching ring?!

I saw this fantastic ring idea at Beach Brights and knew they would be perfect with the washer necklaces...

I bought my 15 rings (for $4.00) just like Beach Brights did...and then found a bag full or clear glass stones in my craft stuff...

cut out circles with the same scrapbook paper and glue them on the stones...

I used glitter glue to glue the paper on...love that sparkle...

and diamond glaze to attach the ring.

pretty yeah?

a cute little jewelry set for any "tween" on your list!

...and if you need another idea...

how about taking a favorite "family" recipe and putting it on a tile with a stand for the kitchen...

I just got this from my step-mom in the mail today...

these are the most delicious muffins EVERY...my older sister and all of my step-siblings got this a few years ago...I just saw it at my step-brother's house and was very jealous...so I got one too:)
