Fun with Peeps

I love peeps.
I have loved them for as long as I can remember.
My sister decided to surprise me with a box full of peeps a few weeks before Easter.
The return address said "the peep show"...she's nice and funny!

I saw some chocolate covered peeps on Pinterest and since I had a few peeps at my house already...(did I mention I had already bought a bunch before the box arrived?)

I dipped some peeps!

I'm not gonna lie...
The bunnies were delicious!

and I used dark chocolate so they were "good for me".

The chicks went into little boxes and were tied up with a bow with a tag that said "for my peeps". The bunnies were put together in twos in little cello bags.
I loved how they all turned out...and lucky for me, my friends also enjoy themselves some peeps!

I also made up a few "Peeps in a Jar". I thought I took pictures, but I guess not. They turned out pretty cute. I made up one recipe to try and they were pretty yummy. I ended up only doing about 1 cup of M&Ms in my jars because the 1 1/2 was WAY too much. Other then that...yum!

sister Easter basket exchange

Last year my mom thought it would be fun to exchange "Easter baskets" among the sisters. There are 5 of us, plus my mom and 1 wonderful sister-in-law. It was a lot of fun...so this year we kept the tradition going.

This year I drew one of my younger sisters.
This is what I did...(our budget is $15...just a small amount to do something fun...it's even more fun to see what all you can do for $15)

She had seen a picture of these cute little guys from the Wood Connection and told my mom she loved them...so I painted up a set for her.

Then I found these great glass shapes at a scrapbook store (for 75 cents a piece) and knew they would be perfect...I really wanted to make one with her initial on it...and when I found this S pattern in my scrapbook paper stack I was thrilled...and I just love the colors in the paisley...she can wear it with so many things.

I just modge podged the paper to the back, then added the the bails with diamond glaze. I only bought 1 chain to keep my cost on budget, but she can easily switch the 2 pendants.

All packaged up and ready to go.

My total cost for all I bought was just under $15. I didn't have to buy any paint, paper or supplies to make the stuff which was great. I hope she loves it all.

My mom has me this year and I can't wait to see what she came up with...she is crazy creative and crafty, so I am very excited!

It's trying so hard to be spring...

So I am giving it a bit of help.
I finally put out my spring decor last week...and I have added a few things to it over the past few days. The "spring", tall flowers and 2 little bunnies I have had for quite a few years. This year I added the little bunny and egg trio. All the wood items were purchased at the Wood Connection and then painted at home (with lots of help from Lil D).

I just love this little guy.
I think he is too cute.

And I'm not sure what I love more...
the eggs, or just the cute paper on the eggs.

And another cute bunny...

for the kitchen shelf.

Now if mother nature would cooperate and give us a break from the rain and snow...it might really feel like spring around here.

Happy Easter...from the Thompsons...

yep...we woke up to a fresh batch of snow again today...
Where is my spring?

The snow didn't keep the Easter bunny away...just had to leave the eggs hidden inside.

2 of my sisters were here to celebrate Easter with us.

My older sister Vicki, made us these delicious quiche...they were SO good. And of course we had to have a smoothie too!

and after a day of snacking on candy even more food...
we had my step-brother, his wife and Mr. T's brother join us for dinner.

I found these great orange napkins at Home Goods the other night. They scream more summer then spring to me...but with the snow we are having...I'm pretty sure we will be skipping straight from winter to summer.

"cheesy potatoes" (as Lil D calls them)
in my bubble n brown baking dishes (LOVE them)

I got this bowl at home goods too...oh I love it!

with our potatoes and cesar salad, we had asparagus and ham...yum.

It was a really nice day...but my belly is full...and we have more painting to do tomorrow.
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter as well!
