freezer paper sibling shirts

We are spending this weekend with Mr. T's family meeting our newest nephew...little Blake...so freakin' cute. This is my sister-in-law's third baby. When she had her second, I made her daughter a "big sister" t-shirt. So after her most recent addition, I wanted to do the t-shirt thing again. But I wanted to do something more then just the "big sister/brother" thing.

I thought about doing shirts that said: "kid 1" "kid 2" "kid 3"...but then you run into the whole "hand me down thing"
...anyway...
after reading her post announcing Blake's birth I got a better idea...

Meet "team larson"

I used freezer paper and made the stencil on my cricut (used the Disney cartridge). I decided to go all lower case so the letters would be small enough and I thought it looked more "kiddy". The fonts are actually different sizes so they fit the size of the shirt better. I got the pink shirt at Old Navy for $5 and the blue shirt at Walmart for $2.50. The onesie came in a pack of 5...so I think it was about $1.50 or so.
(I LOVE the garanimals brand of t-shirts at Walmart...they are dirt cheap and hold up better then most t-shirts.)

I ironed on the stencil and used black fabric paint and a sponge brush.

pull it off when it's dry and here's what you get...

I just love them.

super cute! I love the black paint, b/c even though each shirt is a different color, the black pulls them all together, and the lower case letters are perfect.
love it!
