This is my staircase...was my staircase...till about a week ago.
The previous owner thought it would be a good idea to carpet the wall.
(luckily only the walls on the upstairs stairs not the basement stairs)
Not really sure why it took me 5 1/2 years to tear it off?!
After patching a zillion staple holes and some dings and a really good paint job..try 3 coats...
we tore out that nasty carpet and had some much better stuff put in.
(NOT on the walls)
Yeah "new" not wall carpeted staircase.

all of your makeovers are look great! that new carpet looks beautiful in all the rooms.
Just found your post and I am looking at redoing my stairs and have the same issue with carpet on the walls but wasn't sure how to get rid of it. Did you have to trim it out at all or just paint it. Thanks Lisa
