edit: I'm reposting for Someday crafts: table top trees...linky party
*********
I bought all the supplies to make this little
TRIO OF TREES
last year...but never found picks for the tops that I liked. When I was at Joanns a month ago, I found some picks I loved. I was so excited to put my little trees together...I have enough for 4 sets (merry christmas someone!)
I used 3 styrofoam cones, 1-8 inches and 2-5 inches.
Chenille yarn in 3 colors (you can really do any colors)
straight pins with colored round heads
3 picks
glue gun
Glue the yarn on each cone.
Starting from the bottom, makes it easier.
Then randomly stick in your straight pins (or christmas balls)
You can do lots or a few of the straight pins...I like mine less busy!
Stick your picks in the top...
and you have a
Trio of Trees!
Maybe I will keep this set for myself!
So many parties...I LOVE parties. So I had to join the fun...

So cute! I have a similar idea on my blog, too, but with beads.

This is such a super cute idea. I love trees as a decoration! Looks like I might have to make these!
Your trees turned out very cute...I especially like the tops!
Those turned out so cute! I bought some cone trees last night at Hobby Lobby, but never thought to wrap with chenille yarn. Very creative. Thanks for sharing.

I love these! Cutest "yarn" trees I've ever seen. I'm going to make me some. Have you found a deal on cones anywhere? And I guess I'll go back to Joann's for more pics. I didn't see the "joy" one and I must have it! Thanks for sharing.
These are darling! I love the yarn look and the little silvery things in them! Thanks for linking up at somedaycrafts.blogspot.com
