I have loved seeing all the "EAT" commands?! going up in kitchens all over blogland.
I wanted my own EAT...but wanted metal letters.
I was struggling to find them...so...I made my own.
I bought these letters at Hobby Lobby, along with some silver leafing.
(I was hoping by silver leafing the letters they would have a bit more dimension then if I just spray painted them).
I did spray paint the backs with some leftover silver spray paint.
(probably not necessary...but whatever)
Then I used some generic spray adhesive and put a coat on the top and sides of each letter.
I laid a piece of the silver leafing on and gently rubbed it on.
I continued till they were all covered.
I let them sit for about an hour (so they were completely dry) and then I wiped them again so any excess silver leafing would flake off.
I hung them using the 3m velcro sticky tabs.
I like how they turned out...the font isn't my favorite, but I don't hate it:)
In the pictures they kinda look like I spray painted them, but in real life they have a lot of dimension:)
I'm linkin' to these parties.

I love the idea of covering them with foil!
Great tutorial, and they really do look like metal!
Does this mean that you aren't going to have the rotating seasons anymore? The "EAT" looks great. Well done.
I love the yellow vase right next to it.
cute and FUN :)
