The Organizing Junkie had a challenge for the month of February...
I joined...and I was almost 100% successful...I bit off more then I could chew. We tell Lil D not to do that 'cause he always chokes...guess I choked...:) The main area of my basement is still in disarray (I'm hoping for a play room in the next week of so:)
BUT
I did get done A TON done!
enter...the OLD Guest room:
slash unused office...
and closet from you know where...
After much dejunking...organizing...painting...crafting...sewing...decorating and more...
Welcome to my NEW guest room:
...and craft closet...
(all of the craft stuff from the bigger area in the basement and the old shelving in the guest room is now nicely organized and stored in here)
(this room has a lot going on in it...but this corner seems a bit sad...do I need something on that wall or should I keep it blank? how 'bout a small side table to go by the chair?...and do you love how I forgot to replace the final faceplate before snapping a pic...awesome)
GUESTS...I am finally ready for you!
So what all did I do?
-DEJUNKED...more trips to DI then I can count
-sold the "office" furniture (thanks Baileys)
-ORGANIZED...all of my craft stuff is organized and in labeled buckets...
I can walk in there and immediately find exactly what I am looking for...when was the last time I could do that?
-painted every square inch of the room and closet.
-changed out the sweet gold door handle and hinges for brushed nickel.
-had Mr. T put in shelves and a table in the craft closet and change out the light.
-painted the bedroom furniture
-made wall art, framed art display, jewelry holder, cork/fabric board
-painted and recovered lamp
-sewed drapes for the closet, made roman shade
-sewed 2 toss pillows and added ribbon to the shams.
-painted one chair and recovered 2 chairs
-whew...did I forget anything?
You can see the craft closet redo here and here. You can see the painting of the room here. You can see the bedroom furniture before and after here. You can see all the decor I made here, here and here.

Ter---You've out down yourself once again....love it!!!!! I can't wait to lay my head on one of those pillows soon. I'm going to take a picture of my new bedding...I think I need a ruffle pillow in lime green for my bed. What do you think?????
Congrats, you've worked so hard, the room looks fab and such a nice place now to offer guests!
Wow! That looks GREAT! This inspires me to get off my bum and make some changes in my home! I think I need a dump truck to haul all of my stuff off to DI.
Good job!
It looks beautiful!
That's a lot of work!
HOLY COW!!!! IT is so beautiful... I love the closet I love the drapes, I love the art... In short, I REALLY LOVE it ALL! (phew that is a lot of caps and exclamation points...) But I mean it you did a great job, I have been trying to clean out my craft room for about 2 months now, slowly, and I mean really slowly!
Anyway this is Awesome, fyi I am definitely going to feature this! I LOVE it!
It turned out great! I've been waiting to see. The punches of red really pull it together. High fives!

It looks so very beautiful!! I just linked up with remodelaholic...so many wonderful ideas!
You did an amazing job! I still love that jewelry holder. :) I think I might have to make one for myself. You have inspired me, thanks!
Looks great Teri!! Can't wait to see it for real!! Love you!! Oh and you can view my video now!!
This looks so clean and pulled together. Nice color palette.
ok, confess...where did all the other stuff go? Great job - one month you say? Wow.
Oh my gracious! You've been a busy bee! I just love it. You've done an incredible job. :)
Such a great room! I love the colors and the patterns. They look great!!! You did SUCH a great job. I'm a little jealous you are already done!
The whole room looks great. I am sure you are going to love it and get a lot of use out of that closet.
I think you should leave the corner how it is...that way it doesn't look to overcrowded and when guests come they have somewhere to keep their luggage.
Fantastic! You deserve some chocolate for all that hard work!
You put a lot of thought and effort into it and it shows. The black and red combo is really fun and, of course, I'm still loving that craft closet and that you used a curtain to disguise it. Awesome!
Wow! What an awesome transformation! I can't believe you did this in one month?! Did you sleep?? ;)
Thanks for visiting my blog (damask drape and curtain rod tutorial), when you said you loved damask too I had to come see it, it's my new obsession! :)
I love the room. The black and white look great.

What a cute room. love your craft closet and your window shade.
I am impressed -- such a beautiful room!
Fabulous makeover! This room is magazine ready! Thank you for sharing!!
You have done a fantastic makeover on the whole space. I am love with that neat craft closet! (Mine is unmentionable.) I enlarge the pic for a really good look, and I have to say you really have it together.
One thing I am curious about: the legs on the work surface -- are these actual legs or something else, like maybe PVC piping? I need to do something like that for my sewing table.
One other thing: I have to laugh each time I see your user name (Mama Thompson). That was my maiden name, and half the children in my neighborhood called my mother Mama Thompson!

Gorgeous room! Do you live somewhere warm? Can I come stay? HA! Nice job! Love the pops of color!
I love your craft closet! So organized. I just did a post on my studio... which is NOT organized... but painted!

WOW! WOW! I'm in awe. I love your color choices and the bold print. I would love to stay in that room! And I'm a scrapbooker, so of course I'm envious of your new craft space. :) Great job!
Wow! This room is an inspiration to me. I also have a guest room, sewing room, kids game room that is just a disaster. I love the painted furniture. It looks fabulous. I love the curtain covering the closet!
Great room!
Wow. That's really all I can say! That room looks fantastic! I love the simple elegance of the red, white and black, and then when you add in the black and white damask....GORG! You did a great job! It really looks amazing!
Wow. This is GORGEOUS!! I love everything about it! You could rent that room out :) Thanks for the comment on my blog! Yes, cutting vinyl is EASY! So much easier to work with that I had thought!
So very striking, I love it. The wall art, the curtain, the sharp contrast. This just WORKS.
Wow! It's so impressive, not only because it looks nice but because you did it all yourself.
So Cuuuuuute! Maybe I should come over for a sleep-over? :)
Wow! That is a lot to get done in 30 days! I'm very impressed. It looks gorgeous. I'd love to have a craft space like that. Pretty fabric.
I love it! Congrats on finishing it up. You are so talented. It makes me want to come visit. :) Fun patterns/colors.
I think you should leave the corner the way it is. The patterns are bold, so some blank space is fine!
wow - GREAT work. so worth ur efforts!
